NEW HEARTS & PURPLE HEARTS

If you like your mod music with a punky edge, Chris Hunt has written the sleeve notes for two new CDs released this month: 'The Mod Singles Collection' by the Purple Hearts has been released by Captain Mod, and Cherry Red have released 'A Secret Affair' by New Hearts (for the unititiated, that's the new wave band who later turned into Secret Affair, if the title didn't already give it away!). Both contain exhaustively researched sleeve notes that include interviews with various band members. Have a listen and a read - it'll be just like 1979 again!
