NEW ADDITIONS TO THE FEATURES SECTION

Features recently added to the site include Chris Hunt’s indepth article for Uncut on the recording of John Lennon’s ‘Double Fantasy’ album. For the feature Chris tracked down several contributors to the album, including producer Jack Douglas, drummer Andy Newmark, musical arranger Tony Davilio, plus Rick Nielsen and Bun E Carlos of Cheap Trick, who guested on the sessions. He also persuaded two of Lennon’s crewmates from his 1980 sailing trip to Bermuda to talk for the first time about how the experience of weathering a dangerous storm proved the inspiration that Lennon needed to start writing once again after a sabatical of five years.

 

Also added are interviews from the late Eighties with The La’s, Kiss and legendary Who and Kinks producer Shel Talmy, plus a 1988 article on the emerging Acid Jazz scene, that includes interviews with Steve White, Gilles Peterson, James Taylor and Galliano.

 

Other recent additions include a Mojo feature on The Beatles’ Christmas shows and a 1986 fanzine interview with actor Ray Brooks, discussing his films of the Sixties, such as ‘The Knack… And How To Get It’.
